Sister cities of Lafayette and Louisville are located just to the west of Boulder. Just like true sisters, they each have their own uniqueness. Lafayette is a historic agriculture and mining town thriving with exciting retail, parks, restaurants found in the revitalized Old Town District. The town hosts a variety of events every year, including an oatmeal festival, the peach festival, a wine festival, and Lafayette Days. Not to be outdone, Louisville (established in 1882) is also a quaint historic coal mining town with its own festivals and celebrations but has also won Money Magazines “best places to live” in 2011.
