The most populous municipality of the county, it had 48,231 residents at the 2010 United States Census, with an estimated population of 64,484 as of 2019. This quickly growing community has been able to keep its small-town feel through preserving the quaint downtown area while adding a shopping district to the north, and embracing its trail system. Castle Rock is known for its community feel and year-round community events. It has become a destination spot for many Coloradans with the Outlet Mall, and the new addition of “the MAC” which has trails, zip lines, stair climb, an indoor pool, an amphitheater with concerts, and soon to be added year-round snow tubing and conference center! Castle Pines is located on the north end of Castle Rock, known for its rolling hills, Mature pine trees, and award-winning schools. It is also home to the only gated community in the area which is Castle Pines Village
